A thoughtful space for self-understanding, growth, and connection.
Grounded in compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based practice.
Life can be complex. Pain and suffering are part of our human experience, alongside love and joy. Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what is happening beneath the surface, developing a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the patterns that shape your life. And in that understanding, meaningful change becomes possible.
“When someone says to us, as Thich Nhat Hanh suggests, ‘Darling, I care about your suffering,’ a deep healing begins.”
Tara Brach
Grounded in evidence-based practice of attachment theory, relational psychology, and contemporary understandings of the nervous system, Tenille offers a reflective and collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences with curiosity and compassion, understand themselves more deeply, strengthen their relationships, and move towards a life that feels more authentic, connected, and aligned.
Therapy with Tenille is insight-oriented while remaining grounded in the realities of everyday life. Together, you will explore not only present challenges, but also the deeper emotional and relational patterns that may be shaping how you experience yourself, your relationships, and the world around you.
There is a knowing within each of us that cannot be reached through thinking alone. The body and nervous system communicate with us every day, offering subtle guidance about what feels true, meaningful, nurturing and aligned. Yet these messages can easily be lost beneath the pace and demands of modern life.
Part of the therapeutic process involves learning to slow down, turn inward, and listen more deeply to ourselves with curiosity and compassion. Many people come to therapy believing they need information and guidance, and then often what emerges is that they simply needed help to build their capacity to trust what they already know.
In this way, therapy can be both a process of understanding ourselves and a process of returning to ourselves. It brings to mind Ram Dass’s beautiful reflection that “we’re all just walking each other home.”

Hi there — thanks for being here. It’s lovely to connect.
For as long as I can remember, what has mattered most to me is moving towards experiences that bring a sense of aliveness, connection, and presence.
This has shaped not only how I live, but also how I work as a psychologist.
Drawing on over two decades of experience across public, private, and community mental health settings, I bring both clinical expertise and genuine human warmth to the therapy room.
What forms the heart and soul of my work is supporting people to reconnect with themselves and what matters most to them.
The space we access in therapy offers an opportunity to slow down and make sense of our lives and experiences, creating room for perspective to shift and to feel we have choice in how we show up. Together, we can turn towards what lies within, with gentle curiosity, and discover that meaningful change is possible.
For me, it truly is a privilege to sit alongside people as they navigate life’s challenges — to meet them with compassion, honour the humanity in what they carry, and support them towards a life that feels more authentic, connected, and aligned.
I look forward to meeting you.
For adults seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, their experiences, and the challenges they face, and who are wanting to live with greater clarity, authenticity, and connection.

Tenille has long been moved by the profound power of coming together. When we gather in community, something shifts. We begin to soften the sense of separateness that so often accompanies being human, and remember what is found in belonging, connection, and shared humanity.
Her groups, workshops, and retreats are a natural extension of this philosophy — bringing together psychological depth, embodied awareness, contemplative practice, and genuine human connection. They are thoughtfully created spaces to pause, reflect, learn, and explore what it means to live with greater presence, authenticity, and connection to ourselves, one another, and the wider world.
If you’d like to be among the first to hear about upcoming offerings — or if there’s a group, workshop, or retreat you’d love to see — we’d love to hear from you.
Psychological therapy is a talk-based intervention for mental health issues and concerns. Initially there will be an assessment phase (1–3 sessions) where we identify what will be addressed in therapy and determine if there is good capacity to work together. Regular appointment times are then set to support commitment to the therapeutic process.
Sessions generally last 50–55 minutes. Tenille offers both face-to-face and telehealth options for individual therapy. telehealth can be via phone call or videoconference.
Please note: Tenille’s areas of expertise do not include domestic violence, acute suicidality, eating disorders, or substance use and abuse.
Face-to-face & telehealth.
Face-to-face only (unless otherwise agreed).
With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you can claim a rebate of $98.95 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year (face-to-face and telehealth). From 1 July 2026 this increases to $101.55 per session.
Cancellations within 48 hours incur a $120 fee (for individual sessions) or $135 (for couples’ sessions). Cancellations or missed appointments within 24 hours incur the full session fee (not Medicare-rebatable). When two sessions are cancelled in a row or there have been frequent cancellations, the right is reserved not to offer further sessions. Please be aware that late notice and non-attendance fees are required to be paid prior to attending the next appointment.
The number and frequency of sessions will be discussed based on your treatment needs and goals. In many circumstances it can be difficult to predict a person’s response to treatment, and your practitioner will discuss this with you before commencing.
You may be able to claim from your private health insurance provider. Please confirm your entitlements directly with your provider.
Couples sessions are not covered by Medicare.
